Our society sees us HIV/AIDS orphans as the living dead. We suffer daily discrimination. At the age of three, my father passed away due to AIDS. My mother was chased out of our village because it was believed that she had bewitched my father. This left me alone.
I was raised by my brother however we had to face many challenges alone, with no support from the government.
This is the plight of many orphans like me. Thus, we need to help ourselves. I therefore started Light to support orphans through peer education networks and cooperatives.
They deserve a better future and that is what Lighta is going to give them.
